Do you feel like you care deeply about the planet, but living sustainably feels complicated, expensive, and inconvenient? This is the reality for many people today.
At the recent presentation for Re:Coded team and students, we introduced ShopEco, an e-commerce platform designed to empower people to live more sustainably without breaking the bank.
Overview of ShopEco
ShopEco is an innovative e-commerce marketplace that aims to make sustainability accessible to everyone. The platform offers just eco-friendly products, while providing personalised recommendations and gamification features to encourage continuous engagement.
By focusing on accessibility, convenience, and education, ShopEco will help users to make informed decisions and reduce the anxiety often associated with sustainable living.
What I Learned
Working on ShopEco was an enlightening experience. Here are some key takeaways:
1. User-Centric Design: I learned the importance of empathising with users and understanding their pain points. By conducting user interviews and surveys, we gained valuable insights into the challenges people face when trying to live sustainably.
2. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with four other designers taught us the value of clear communication and teamwork. It is highly beneficial when each team member brings unique skills and perspectives, which enriches the project and lead to innovative solutions.
3. Iterative Process: The iterative design process was crucial. Rapid prototyping and feedback allowed us to refine our ideas and ensure that our solutions were user-centered and effective.
