Users needed custom plates urgently, whether for personal use, events, or temporary needs, but existing services were either too slow or required bulk orders.

Creating a Seamless User Experience for Custom License Plates
Accurate Visual Representation of Plates
✦ I focused on designing digital samples of license plates that maintained the exact proportions of physical ones. This ensured that users could visualise their order as closely as possible to the real thing. Using a typeface similar to the one used on German license plates, I also made sure the spacing and alignment of characters would mirror the final printed product. This reduced user friction, offering an accurate preview and improving overall satisfaction with the customisation process.

Intuitive Icon Design for Easy Navigation
✦ To make the process of selecting different types of license plates clear and intuitive, I designed a range of icons representing each category, such as seasonal plates, car plates, and motorcycle plates. These icons were not just visually distinct, but also helped reduce cognitive load, making it easier for users to quickly identify and select the right option.
Funplates with Custom Symbols
✦ For users ordering fun plates, I recreated the symbols and designs that would appear on the final printed plates. This allowed customers to visualise their unique designs, adding an element of personalisation and delight to the experience.

Prioritising Functionality and Continuous Improvement
✦ Throughout the project, our primary focus was on functionality. It was crucial that the website worked smoothly, allowing users to easily place orders. While developers made gradual improvements to the design based on feedback, we prioritised solving the most critical usability issues first, ensuring the platform remained fully operational.
Product cards
The product card design was crafted to provide a clear, user-friendly experience. Each card features icon and type name, a digital sample of the license plate, and pricing.
